Season: Spring 2021

YTP vs Legends

A second-half goal from captain Mitchell Torh wasn’t enough as the Legends lost 2-1 to YTP on Matchday 2 of the CASA Primera Division.

The Legends came into this match looking for their first victory of their inaugural season but knew they had a big hill to climb when they conceded two quick goals in the first half.

The second half was much better with the introduction of midfield-maestro Prince Jarbo who controlled the midfield and created chances for the Legends, one of which was converted by captain Mitchell Torh in the 60th minute.

The Legends continued to pile pressure on the hosts but their goalie was exceptional denying us the equalizer.

The Legends will look to get their first win of the season when they play Real Vidas on Saturday, April 3rd at 11:45am at the Upper Darby High School Stadium in Upper Darby, PA.

SMK vs Legends

In an exciting season opener, the Legends were forced to a 1-1 tie by a resolute SMK side at the Monsignor Bonner High School Stadium in Drexel Hill, PA.

The Legends started the game well, holding onto possession in the first 15 minutes before going ahead in the 20th minute.

A through pass from  Ebere Goodluck to Alexander “Tashiki” Sonpon saw the striker do the “Bergkamp” against his marker before slotting the ball at the back of the net.

After conceding, SMK reacted right away by pressuring the Legends and that paid off in the 35th when their striker beat the offside trap and equalized for his side.

The score would remain tied at 1-1 at halftime.

Both teams came gunning after the break and had opportunities to put the game at bed but Ralph Jacobs, though clearly hurt, made series of one-on-one saves to denied SMK while at the other end, first “Tashiki” and then captain Peter “Zizou” Jarbo, were guilty of missing clear-cut chances to give the Legends a much-needed win.

The Legends will look to get their first win of the season next Saturday, March 27 against YTP FC. Kickoff is at 12:30 p.m. at the Cristos Rey High School in Philadelphia, PA.

Predators vs Legends

The Legends competed in their first-ever match this season when they traveled to Conshohocken to battle West Chester Predators in the quarter-finals of the Eastern Pennsylvania O30 State Cup.

The Legends equalized twice during the regular period.

Predators took an early lead in the first half after breaking an offside trap before MOTM Mohammed Mayah equalized from midfield-maestro Prince Jarbo’s free kick which had hit the underside of the goal.

The score would remained tied at 1-1 at the break.

The Legends started slowly again like the first half and they were made to pay from another offside trap broken by the Predators who went ahead 2-1 in the 55th minute.

The Predators’ lead lasted only 14 minutes before a cross from co-captain Mitchell Torh was met with a one-time volley off the right foot of Ebere Goodluck to tie the game at 2-2.

Both teams had chances to seal the match in the regular period but goalkeeper Ralph Jacobs was excellent in goal for the Legends, making series of exceptional saves, while winger Mitchell Torh and forward Allison were guilty of missing some great chances at the other end of the pitch.

With tired legs, the Legends battled to the end of the regular 90-minute period, first half of extra time, and were looking forward to penalty kicks before the Predators capitalized from a turn-over and scored their winner with the last kick of the match in the 119th minute.
